Field Ranger

Carey joined ZIP as a field ranger in 2022. She has spent six years working in hydrology and water resources, most recently as a scientist at Environment Canterbury, providing technical advice on looking after Canterbury's rivers, before coming to Franz Josef. She's passionate about taking care of New Zealand's wild places and is excited to be contributing to ZIP's work toward predator elimination.

In her free time you'll find her getting out into the hills and rivers whenever she can, tramping, mountain biking and kayaking. Bonus that field ranger life provides opportunities to get into these kinds of places during the work week too!
