Julia has a BSc in psychology, ecology and biodiversity, and a Masters in Conservation Biology from Victoria University. She is based in Twizel and joined the Te Manahuna Aoraki Project team in 2019 to help with monitoring native species to better understand how predator control is helping their survival.

Julia has also worked with the orange-fronted parakeet/kākāriki karaka recovery team.  These birds are very rare and only found in beech forests around Arthur’s Pass and Lake Sumner.

In her spare time you will find her enjoying the stunning landscapes of Te Manahuna Aoraki.
