Field Ranger

Coraline has found her dream job as a field ranger for Te Manahuna Aoraki Project.

She started with the team in October 2021 as a contractor, classifying pictures for over two years, before becoming a casual ranger in April 2024, and then a permanent part-time ranger in 2025. During the summer of 2023-2024, while still classifying pictures for the project, Coraline also worked with the Department of Conservation (DOC), caring for rare plants in Te Manahuna area.

Originally from Belgium, Coraline lived in Australia for two years before coming to Aotearoa on a working holiday visa. Her initial plan was to keep travelling, but after meeting her partner and falling in love with the stunning landscapes of Aotearoa, she lived in Wellington for a while and has now been living in Twizel for five years, with no plans to leave.

In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, building a sustainable life, and tramping.
