Rat Detective/ Good Boy

Baxter is one of the only fully-certified rat detection dogs in New Zealand. He is a tiny, fiery blend of Jack Russell, corgi and attitude. He lives in South Westland with his handler Chelsea.

Baxter’s job is to search for rats in areas under protection – those that have either invaded or survived an initial eradication. He is a persistent and tenacious hunter with a ton of energy to burn.

In his spare time Baxter loves playing with his ball, meeting other dogs (particularly females!), long walks on the beach, and overheating next to the fire.
