Chair
Jon brings a wealth of governance experience, values-driven leadership and deep financial expertise to the ZIP Board of Directors.
In addition to his role as ZIP's Board Chair, he currently chairs New Zealand’s largest sustainable harvest forest, Kaingaroa Tipu Limited, and is a director of Ngāi Tahu Holdings. He has also previously held governance roles with Kiwibank, ASB, Sovereign Assurance, Chorus, Mercury Energy, and Air New Zealand. Earlier in his career, Jon worked across the UK, Sudan, Zambia, Australia and New Zealand in executive roles including CEO and CFO.
Jon is also an ordained Anglican priest and brings more than 30 years of voluntary leadership experience. This includes chairing VisionFund International, the global microfinance subsidiary of World Vision, and the Wellington City Mission.
He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Institutes in England and Wales, in Australia and New Zealand, and of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Jon lives in Wellington with his wife, Chris, and together they have four adult children and four mokopuna.
