Chad joined ZIP in 2018 after spending 3 years studying for a Diploma in Environmental Management and a Bachelor of Science majoring in biological sciences in Tauranga through Toi Ohomai and Waikato University. During this time, he did volunteering work for the Otanewainuku Kiwi Trust in Tauranga (helping with toxin applications, track maintenance, brown kiwi monitoring/handling) and DOC (assisting with Argentine Ant eradication on Great Mercury Island).

Growing up on isolated sheep stations around the North Island, he has developed a passion for photography and exploring New Zealand's outdoors.

In his spare time, Chad enjoys possum trapping, kayaking, diving for kaimoana and pursuing his photography.
