ZIP is looking for permanent and fixed-term (i.e. 6-12 month) field rangers to join our team in South Westland.

Are you:

  • physically fit, self-motivated and independent;

  • someone who loves working in the outdoors;

  • passionate about helping to restore our native biodiversity;

  • a great team player; and

  • looking to develop your skills in the field?

If so, we want to hear from you!

As a ZIP field ranger, you will join a small, innovative team working to develop new knowledge, tools and techniques to completely remove possums, rats and stoats, and prevent them from re-establishing, at large sites on the mainland. We call this the ‘Remove and Protect’ model of predator management.

You will spend approximately 90% of your work time in some spectacular – and challenging – back country, at ZIP’s field development site in South Westland.
