Prior to joining the ZIP field team, Oscar was employed part-time as a field technician with the Lincoln University crew, as well as an animal facility technician for Landcare Research since 2014. During his employment with the Lincoln team and Landcare Research, he undertook a BSc majoring in Conservation & Ecology at Lincoln University. He has experience in handling a wide variety of wild caught animals in both laboratory and field settings.
Following the completion of his undergraduate degree in 2016, Oscar was stoked to be released from the position of ZIP’s artisanal chew card maker at Lincoln, and gain some further field experience with the ZIP field team.
When time permits, he can be found chasing deer and goats around the Canterbury high country with his best mate Mac-dog, fishing in Resolution bay, or discussing craft beers (despite his loyalty to Speights).
